Terms of Service

These terms are a contract between you and Sakina Care ("we", "us") covering your use of sakinacare.org. By using the site — and especially by creating an account or posting a listing — you accept them.

1. What Sakina Care is

Sakina Care is a neutral platform for third-party classified advertisements: caregivers advertise their services; families advertise their care needs; local businesses buy clearly labeled sponsor slots. We publish, moderate, and remove listings. We do not create them, and we do not participate in any arrangement made between users. The disclaimer is part of these terms.

2. Eligibility

You must be 18 or older to create an account or post a listing. Listings must relate to non-medical home care and family support within the United States.

3. Your listings

  • Everything you post must be true, written by you, about you (or your family's own need, or your own business). Impersonation is grounds for immediate removal and suspension.
  • No medical, nursing, or clinical services may be offered or requested. No claims that require a professional license you don't hold.
  • You may state your own preferences (for example, a family may seek a same-gender, Muslim caregiver for religious reasons; a caregiver may describe the faith-aware care they offer). These are your statements, not ours.
  • Don't post other people's private information, and leave out your loved one's full name and street address — the contact step handles introductions.
  • New listings and edits are held for human review before publishing. We may decline or remove any listing at our discretion, with or without notice, and suspend accounts that break these terms ("Good Samaritan" moderation — removing bad content doesn't make us the author of what remains).

4. Contacting people through the site

Contact tools (message relay and contact reveal) exist to introduce people, and are rate-limited to prevent scraping and harassment. Use them only in connection with care arrangements. Harassment, solicitation unrelated to care, or automated collection of contact details will get your account suspended.

5. Payments

Optional paid products — Sponsored placement, Premium listings, and business sponsor slots — are advertising services. They buy visibility, never endorsement, never placement. Payments are processed by Stripe; we don't store card details. Except where law requires otherwise, advertising fees are non-refundable once the placement has run, though we'll always be fair about errors on our side. We never charge for, or take a percentage of, care itself.

6. No warranty; limitation of liability

The site is provided "as is." We make no warranties about the accuracy of listings or the conduct, qualifications, or reliability of any user. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sakina Care's total liability to you for any claim arising out of the site or any arrangement formed through it is limited to the greater of $100 or the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including any arising from interactions or agreements between users.

7. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify Sakina Care against claims arising from your listings, your conduct, or arrangements you enter with other users.

8. Accounts & termination

Sign-in is by one-time email links; keep control of your inbox. You can stop using the site any time and ask us to delete your account and listings (email salaam@sakinacare.org). We may suspend accounts that violate these terms.

9. Changes

We may update these terms; material changes will be noted on this page with a new date. Using the site after a change means you accept it.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict of law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware.
